KNOT FUTURE: Here & Now - Stefan Spiessberger
Stefan almost quit competing, but then he didn't. He enrolled in a university instead. We spent two days with him early this year to find out more. The future, the past, his childhood dreams and more recent love-hate relationship with his winter home base (Tarifa). Presented by Duotone Kiteboarding. With footage from Stefan's archives. KNOT FUTURE: Death of Park
Filmed across the 2019 Kite Park League season, Death of Park takes you from smooth Hatteras winds in the Real Kiteboarding slider park all the way across the country and into the icy waters of the Hood River Slider Project. "I wanted to make this film to show people where Kiteboarding and Park riding is at in 2019. I wanted to document the things that so often people don't get to see. I did my best to show what happened, but there were still many tricks and many riders that went un-documented. Films like this are crucial for progression and understanding, especially now with so much kite media focused on circus tricks and viral clips... someone has to do something proper" - [Alexander Lewis-Hughes]. Including Riders: Annelous Lammerts Karolina Winkowska Alexander Lewis-Hughes Ramiro Gallart Ewan Jaspan & Friends If you enjoy this video and would like to see more from Knot Future please consider buying some merchandise or contacting us to make a donation. BEHOLD & SEA - Ewan Jaspan Full Length
Throughout 2018 I decided to focus on making a full length video part. Together with Alexander Lewis-Hughes from Knot Future we managed to film in Perth, Melbourne, Cape Hatteras, Squamish, Hood River and Icapui in Brazil and pull it all into one piece. It was a different year holding back all the footage we gathered while watching everyone release short videos throughout the season, but I think in the end it was definitely worth it and we hope this inspires more people to focus on quality content that lasts in the age of social media. Make sure to share this video to help support these kind of videos in the kiteboarding industry. Wakestyle now, is a term thrown around pretty loosely these days in kiteboarding, which is unusual because as recently as two years ago, it was a term that essentially only referred to about %1 of the kiteboarding population. However with the recent emergence of bindings on the world tour, you see more and more people throwing that word around. It seems now as if almost all the top pros fall into the same category, what follows can be considered the distinction… In Patrick Wieland's new short film “Distinction” produced by Mauicio Abreu, riders Alex Fox and Sam Light establish the standard and return the word “wakestyle” to its original roots.
