"THE RIVER" - [ Ewan Jaspan x Prolimit ]

The River - Prolimit Rider - Ewan Jaspan Shot and Edited - Alex Lewis-Hughes The Columbia River Gorge has long been the place to be for the North Hemisphere’s summer months. The cool, wet coastline and the hot, dry desert create a pressure gradient unlike anything else, providing constant winds funnelling against the river from April to October. For many years, windsurfing was the go-to sport for the river-goers, and then kiting became hot in the early 2000’s and the scene slowly changed. Kiting has always been tough due to the gusty winds and tough launches The Gorge provides, but where the Hood River flows into the Columbia, lies a huge sandbank perfect for kiting and a great location for the Slider Project Kite Park. Recently it has become a proper world class destination for foiling, where tricky launches and gusty winds don’t matter, and you’ll find hundreds of people surfing the famous river swell. The Slider Project is what brought me to Hood River originally, with its thriving scene and huge array of free features, it was the perfect place to hang out in the centre of the industry. Although the Slider Project is what brought me here, it is not what kept me coming back, and eventually calling it home. The River is what kept me coming back. The diversity of what it offers to the region keeps you ever entertained and always wanting more. You can kite, wing, sup, windsurf, pocket wing, paddle or sail on the beautiful waters, and in the surroundings, the hills and mountains provide world class mountain biking, kayaking, hiking, snowboard/skiing and paragliding. The idea behind this video was to showcase the beauty on the waters of the river, and show what I am up to during the summer months these days. With all the amazing sports we have these days, it really is just a case of choosing the best craft for the conditions. When the breeze is steady, the kite park comes alive, when it nukes, I find myself endlessly surfing the river swell from A to B, and when it’s marginal, you can explore the river by kitefoil, the fastest way around the river, and find yourself shredding the glassy waters and taking in the scenery. So enjoy the charm of The River and make sure to visit www.prolimit.com before you plan your visit to wind sports paradise.

Introducing VORTEX, a Knot Future production by Tom Bridge, Xander Raith and Noe Font.

Knot Future, and the creators of The Bubble are proud to present the makings of their next full-length film project, VORTEX. For the past year, Tom Bridge, Xander Raith, and Noe Font have traveled the globe in an effort to highlight realities of the modern epoch, commonly referred to as the "present," while showcasing kiteboarding as they see it, simultaneously intertwining their identities and the group dynamic that made the entire process so special. Take a glimpse, get sucked in, and enter their paradigm… In a world of perpetual chaos, conflict, progression, regression, violence, happiness, love, beauty, and the contemporary sensations that accompany living, there are emblematic paradigms that expand with appeal and contract with detachment. Some find themselves stuck in a paradigm they wish to escape from, some stumble into a paradigm fortuitously, and some choose a paradigm because of its allure, sucking them in like a magnet until they reach the epicenter and all that surrounds them spirals together and flows in distinct harmony. The word vortex, a noun, is defined as “a mass of whirling fluid or air, especially a whirlpool or whirlwind.” A vortex is boundless by nature. It’s quiet at its core, but its extremity rages, sucking one in until they reach the focal point; the eye of the storm and the heart of the whirlpool. World Premiere January 9th, Cape Town, South Africa. (Details soon) Thank you Duotone, North, ION, Mystic and RedBull for making this possible.

We are excited to announce the eighteenth episode of the #WYOC video series by Noè Font As much as kitting is an individual sport, to ride park you have to have a crew or a group of friends that want to do it as much as you do and are keen to put in the hours to make it happen. The community aspect of it is what makes it so special. Sharing battles and then enjoying the fruits of all our efforts together. Kiteboarding has many faces yet this one is interpreted by a select few as a true board sport. This video is a celebration of the efforts of those who ride park (or don’t) and contribute to it in any shape or form, you all know who you are. Thank you, Kiteboarding!
