We are stoked to welcome the latest addition to the Airush Kiteboarding collective, Mr. Ramiro Gallart! Ramiro is from Buenos Aires, Argentina. He started off as a skater at the age of 8 but found an interest in kiting shortly after, at the age of 10. Starting out competing as a freestyle rider, Ramiro won the National Tour for 2 years in a row after which he started competing in park. He won a world stop in 2018, podiumed all the events including a triple S in 2019, and ended up 4th in the rankings! Favorite park feature: High Ollies Pipes About the featured video: Ramiro & Tom Seager spent one and a half months in Cape Hatteras only to have 5 days of southwest conditions in which to shoot this video. Maui Pro Pool Tribute
Growing up watching videos of legends charging at Pro Pool, it has been a dream come true to be able to session the spot with Naish Kiteboarding. It can be a very challenging spot, but iconic on its day, and to make a video here was rewarding. Tom Seager, Katie Potter and I caught up for a couple of sessions to show the location now, bare from any riders in boots, but still as good as ever.
2020 RECAP! What a year...
2020 Started out with a broken femur, then a global pandemic followed... Nevertheless, my 2020 was still full of good times and experiences. Here are my favourite moments, and clips from the year! Thank you Airush and AK Durable Supply Co. for the support. Thank you Nadja Bianchet for being an awesome travel companion, riding partner and videographer!
Tunnel Vision - Keahi de Aboitiz (Cabrinha Kitesurfing)
For Keahi, kitesurfing has become an extension of surfing and a way to spend as much time in the ocean as possible. It’s a tool that turns windy sessions into a whole new world of fun. It’s an obsessive addiction that has led him to drop everything when a forecasted big swell appears on the horizon and scramble into planning to make it there. 2019 marked the beginning of a journey to go in search of some of the best waves on the planet. "Tunnel Vision is an action-heavy film that highlights my love for barrels and shows the similarities between sports that I have grown to love" A Cabrinha Films production by Anders Krüger, in association with Patagonia. FATHER OCEAN ft. Ramiro Gallart in Brazil.
"Father Ocean. about the song and the name, it's kind of a big mix of things. first, it was a track we had been listing quite a bunch, we got really into it and then all the reflection and association process came. it felt somehow that with all this quarantine we lost a bit of the track and we just start following just the sun (as a metaphor of something that's good but can blind you) being back in brazil and getting free of this covid mindset felt like starting to see again. In the same line of thought comes the name that it's kind of a tribute to the ocean that we had been pushed away from it all this year and finally in brazil we met again. you for sure get what I'm talking about its this energy that nothing else gives you, in brazil this year I hear a lot; água salgada limpa a alma; (salty water cleans the soul) and it feels quite true to me." —Rami Thanks to Lucas Reddel, Lucas Muzio, Manel Arpa and Mora Gallart for shooting.
The boys are hungry to keep the Slingshot momentum strong and have just finished 2 weeks of shooting on one of the only public kite parks in the world: “The Gorge". And once again Alex Fox, Sam Light and Eric Rienstra have raised the bar on what can be done with a kite. This new short film was filmed and directed by Patrick Wieland and produced by Mauricio Abreu - so sit back and enjoy the next level of kiteboarding...
BEHOLD & SEA - Ewan Jaspan Full Length
Throughout 2018 I decided to focus on making a full length video part. Together with Alexander Lewis-Hughes from Knot Future we managed to film in Perth, Melbourne, Cape Hatteras, Squamish, Hood River and Icapui in Brazil and pull it all into one piece. It was a different year holding back all the footage we gathered while watching everyone release short videos throughout the season, but I think in the end it was definitely worth it and we hope this inspires more people to focus on quality content that lasts in the age of social media. Make sure to share this video to help support these kind of videos in the kiteboarding industry. Wakestyle now, is a term thrown around pretty loosely these days in kiteboarding, which is unusual because as recently as two years ago, it was a term that essentially only referred to about %1 of the kiteboarding population. However with the recent emergence of bindings on the world tour, you see more and more people throwing that word around. It seems now as if almost all the top pros fall into the same category, what follows can be considered the distinction… In Patrick Wieland's new short film “Distinction” produced by Mauicio Abreu, riders Alex Fox and Sam Light establish the standard and return the word “wakestyle” to its original roots.
Suit Days at Home - Alex Pastor
Shot in Tarifa during 3 days in this winter. I usually travel somewhere warm during the off season but after so many years travelling non stop I decided I would give my homespot a try, so I could spend some time at home and enjoy the good things of it. I was really surprised with how good the conditions were. This was definitely a really good choice. www.facebook.com/AlexPastorKite www.alexpastor.es Shot and edited by Andre Magarao song: Moby - Flower

Mowgli's Jungle 2: Episode III (4K)
After a whole year of exploring the broad range freestyle kiteboarding has to offer, such as kicker waves and park riding, Christophe gets back on board to push air tricks. The 2014 freestyle world champion pushed himself 3 weeks prior to filming this part in Brazil, showing why he's still on top of the game. Only now he’s playing by his own rules. Hear him out in this last full episode of the season. A webseries by Sam Van Olmen in cooperation with Red Bull, Liquid Force kites and SES.
