The boys are hungry to keep the Slingshot momentum strong and have just finished 2 weeks of shooting on one of the only public kite parks in the world: “The Gorge". And once again Alex Fox, Sam Light and Eric Rienstra have raised the bar on what can be done with a kite. This new short film was filmed and directed by Patrick Wieland and produced by Mauricio Abreu - so sit back and enjoy the next level of kiteboarding...
BEHOLD & SEA - Ewan Jaspan Full Length
Throughout 2018 I decided to focus on making a full length video part. Together with Alexander Lewis-Hughes from Knot Future we managed to film in Perth, Melbourne, Cape Hatteras, Squamish, Hood River and Icapui in Brazil and pull it all into one piece. It was a different year holding back all the footage we gathered while watching everyone release short videos throughout the season, but I think in the end it was definitely worth it and we hope this inspires more people to focus on quality content that lasts in the age of social media. Make sure to share this video to help support these kind of videos in the kiteboarding industry. Wakestyle now, is a term thrown around pretty loosely these days in kiteboarding, which is unusual because as recently as two years ago, it was a term that essentially only referred to about %1 of the kiteboarding population. However with the recent emergence of bindings on the world tour, you see more and more people throwing that word around. It seems now as if almost all the top pros fall into the same category, what follows can be considered the distinction… In Patrick Wieland's new short film “Distinction” produced by Mauicio Abreu, riders Alex Fox and Sam Light establish the standard and return the word “wakestyle” to its original roots.
Suit Days at Home - Alex Pastor
Shot in Tarifa during 3 days in this winter. I usually travel somewhere warm during the off season but after so many years travelling non stop I decided I would give my homespot a try, so I could spend some time at home and enjoy the good things of it. I was really surprised with how good the conditions were. This was definitely a really good choice. www.facebook.com/AlexPastorKite www.alexpastor.es Shot and edited by Andre Magarao song: Moby - Flower

Mowgli's Jungle 2: Episode III (4K)
After a whole year of exploring the broad range freestyle kiteboarding has to offer, such as kicker waves and park riding, Christophe gets back on board to push air tricks. The 2014 freestyle world champion pushed himself 3 weeks prior to filming this part in Brazil, showing why he's still on top of the game. Only now he’s playing by his own rules. Hear him out in this last full episode of the season. A webseries by Sam Van Olmen in cooperation with Red Bull, Liquid Force kites and SES. Stranded - Hood River
Ewan - This project took a lot of time and effort to film. We had planned to film in the last 10 days of the trip, but niether Alex or myself had tried to make a video part in Hood before, and didn't forsee how difficult it was going to be to get everything to line up for each shot. Most of the time we ended up coming in with no shots whatsoever as the wind would shut off, go 'offshore', pick up to 35 knots, or even at times there was next to no water to ride in due to the dams holding it back. We ended up pushing ourselves pretty hard to get some good clips, I remember trying for hours in terrible wind, just to find a decent gust to get a good HSFS9. I took so many crashes and finally stomped a clean on with 1% battery left on the camera, after being told, 'this is the last shot of the battery'. That was a pretty good moment. All in all I'm really happy with how it turned out, Alex has a very unique way of filming and I think this footage has a very different feel to most other clips on the internet, and we hope you enjoy it! Alexander James Lewis-Hughes - I’d come to Hood River with the goal of filming all my friends in exactly the way I wanted with no restraints or pre-meditated notion of what that had to be. I think it was after about the third day filming I realised that this film was just going to be a whitewash of Ewan's footage, the other footage of people didn’t really fit with his and I didn’t want to blow out all the angles just have Ewan's part right at the end. The last week of the trip Naish Kiteboarding hired me to shoot and do some media work for them with Ewan, it was this that really sealed the deal for me creating a stand alone part with Ewan. To me this Clip embodies Boardsport virtues to the fullest, this isn’t “wakestyle”, this isn’t “Parkstyle”, to me this is just great KiteBOARDING. I’m pretty excited with how this turned out as I put a lot of time and effort into everything about this clip, from the gear to the angles. I hope you all enjoy it! Thanks to all the Hood River Homies and also Naish for the support!
SOME PEOPLE FEEL THE RAIN OTHERS JUST GET WET
::: “Some people feel the rain, others just get wet” is a short film by Noe Font, filmed by Vincent Bergeron featuring Jerome Cloetens and Noe Font. Noè and Jerome experience Brazil in a different way compared to what a usual kite trip to this hotspot is like. Rain and Cities instead of Sunburns and Lagoons. Sick action and stoke remain.
